Vintage Blue/Green Cabinet

Vintage. Beautiful.
There's no any other way if you ask me.

This is a beautiful vintage cabinet with all the original hardware. It has a glass door with a wooden detail on the top front, two shelves inside and a long bottom drawer for additional storage. Perfection.

What I really liked about this piece was all the details. I had in mind to bring that detail to attention even more, with color choices and distressing.
For the hardware, I chose antique gold, rub and buff product.

And for the body, I chose Lime Green(first coat) and light blue, Hycolin Blue, milk paints by General Finishes. After that I did some distressing all over and put glaze in Van Dyke , also by General Finishes.

The back of the inside is covered with fabric in coordinating colors and design , just for fun detail and that extra special touch.

I think it turned out beautiful.

Head over to my shop if interested.

Here's the before just for fun.

Until next time,
Enjoy your vintage collection.

Pirate Ship Dresser

I am a very lucky girl. I love junk and my husband loves getting it for me, going to auctions and loading our van with stuff. I told you, I am a very lucky girl.

Except that from time to time he comes home with something that only my 5 year old gets excited about:

It's going to be a parrot desk Mommy!!!

Best day ever!!!

Or this:
Very sad and plain boring.

So the desk sat in the studio...hm hm hm the basement for a long time, until I did this dresser  for a friend;  the use of a decal on furniture along with watching Jake and the Neverland Pirates show for the I-don't-want-to-know-how many-times with my kids, I had an idea. A Pirate Ship Dresser.

 So here it is now:

Airforce Symbol Dresser

I know a little boy who likes airplanes and snap peas from my garden. I made this dresser for him. His mom said, I like this dresser so much that I believe he will take it with him to college. I don't think I have ever gotten such a nice compliment about my work.

I love the colors and the simple white, red, blue and gold on the hardware.
