Emerald Green Tables with Gold Detail

Emerald and gold are such a classic combination. Jewelry or furniture.

I came across two same tables with very clean simple lines and details on them. Emerald green they are now with just a touch of gold.

I used Emerald Green milk paint by General Finishes and Antique Gold rub and buff product for the gold detail. Sealed with wipe on poly for durability and protection.

"The Gentleman"

And there's that one piece of furniture.
The one you are the most proud of just because you gave it a chance.

I call it "The Gentleman". It's a beautiful empire style dresser with age-defined honor and tradition which makes it timeless.

I found it at an auction. The body is solid, all wood, all the knobs are original glass ones. The veneer on the top was all bubbled up and had to be removed. I've been wanting to get my hands on one of these dressers for a long time so I took on the challenge and bought it. Removing the veneer was time consuming and dreadful, almost as much as putting up laundry if you ask me.  But it was so worth it.

I used milk paint in Soldier Blue to paint the whole body except the drawers, sealed it with wood stain and poly in one, in dark walnut.  The drawers and knobs only needed cleaning up. It looks beautiful.

Modern Blue Tables

I love the color on these two tables. I have a set of two. Not very often do I come by a set of furniture. It's always one forgotten piece of furniture.
My husband found these two at an auction and brought them home for me.

I finished them with dark blue paint, coordinating the blue color on the wrapping paper . The wrapping paper is put on the drawers with modpodge.
The result is simple yet sophisticated.

To emphasize the silver on the paper and the hardware, I detailed the bottom of the legs as well, which makes these tables look like they are wearing high heels. Well now, that is just lovely for ladies like this.

I can see the tables in a bedroom or by a sofa in a living room or anywhere where a little punch of color is needed .

Drawers are lined with the same paper for clean look.

I have them listed on my  Etsy Shop if interested.

Here's the before, just for fun.
