Minty Green Dresser

I like the clean simple lines on this dresser. Mint green is perfectly paired with snow-white and gold detail.

The hardware is all original and very delicate looking.

The mint color I used is a mix of paints I had around, in green and white.
Body in white, drawers in mint, with gold dipped front legs.
Simple.

I definitely see this piece in a girl's bedroom, with some soft bedding and fluffy pillows.
Dreamy green should be the name of this color.

And of course, my garden offered the best staging flowers, hydrangea blooms in the perfect white-green combination.
Now if I could just make my walls bloom flowers.

Organic Sage Green Dresser

I can still remember the comfort I felt going to my Baba's house. The smell of old furniture mixed with fresh fruit and dried leaves of mountain tea. That's the feeling I was going for with this small dresser. Comfort.

I used organic milk paint in sage green and left the top unpainted, stained it in walnut which is warm brown color.

Here's the before and after:

Available on Etsy shop

Thank you.

Second Calling of a Chair

I was at Goodwill one day and came across this sad looking, orange colored, fur covered chair.

I stopped and stared at it and talked myself into walking away from such mess.  I was back at Goodwill couple days later and there she was, waiting for me. It was destiny really.  I accepted the second calling(so to speak) and brought her home.

It really was a mess.

Really, not kidding.

And here it is now:

Wasn't the easiest project I've done , but it felt good to finish it.

First off , if you find yourself doing a project like this, first thing you have to do is get your tetanus shot pronto LOL. Tons of nails and staples and tacks to remove. Somehow I always end up with a scratch or two, or more .

Second, take lots of pictures, LOTS AND LOTS.
I used this pictures to get the project back together , it's easy to strip everything in a hurry and guess how it went together. I don't have professional upholstery training(one day for sure) so I found those pictures very helpful when I was ready to put the chair back together.

I took and tossed everything from this chair because it was very dirty and yucky. After that I put everything back together. One step at a time.
This is when the panic hit, when I was left just with this:

First I painted the frame white and attached the fabric on the back like this:

After that I had to cover all the buttons with the new fabric, one by one by hand. Sloooooow work :

Reupholstered the back part and the front.

And put the whole chair together.

Now , onto all the chair I have brought home to save. One at a time.

Until next time my friends,

'Lil Table

I go to auctions.
 I find treasures.
I find books and forgotten furniture.
 I find memories.
I find history not written in a book.
I find past for the future.
 No wonder it's addictive.

This time I found a little table and gave it a new life and was lucky enough to sell it to a friend to be enjoyed for a long time from now.

I used my favorite color of soft blue, Persian Blue by General Finishes, milk paint, and distressed the details on the body to show some of the wood tones and white primer. Tasteful and pretty.

The detail under the drawers are hand painted with Antique Gold , Rub-n-buff product.

Now that's worth  cup of coffee with a smile.

The before just for fun

Until next time my friends,
